This Request for Tender is being issued by the Vancouver Island Health Authority (“Island Health”) as it is seeking tenders from qualified Respondents for targeted replacement of existing windows at the Acute Care Wing of Saanich Peninsula Hospital, 2166 Mt Newton X Rd, Saanichton, BC V8M 2B2 (“the Project.”). The Project includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing aluminum-frame windows, including flashing, and installation of new aluminum-frame windows, including metal flashing and trim. To ensure minimal disruption to patient care, the work will be executed in a phased manner, the window replacements will be scheduled on a per-room basis. Following the initial installation, testing will be conducted to verify performance and quality standards before proceeding with subsequent phases of the project. General Summary of the work: Remove existing aluminum framed windows and modify interior finishes. Perform abatement on containing portions of window framing as identified in the hazardous material report. Perform localized repairs as required and grind down sealants, membranes, and rough surfaces. Measure each window opening to identify exact dimensions prior to manufacturing. Install new aluminum window assemblies. Install new flashings and replace affected interior finishes to match existing conditions. Install new trim, complete localized painting, and perform final clean-up of the work area. The work will demand strict adherence to Z317.13-22 standards and will necessitate construction activities in an occupied building.
