Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Kerrville, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
The contractor shall perform all the work as required by this contract without placing equipment in or performing work from the riverbed of the Guadalupe River (i.e., from the banks, approaches, and existing bridge deck, unless contractor secures all local, state, and federal permits to use said riverbed) for the following scope and as detailed in Section 090: Reposition bridge deck to its pre-flood alignment Replace bridge bearing pads Repair or reconstruct bridge approaches, including: backfill restoration of subgrade recompaction and grading, final surface reconstruction (base and pavement) Replace bridge joints Repair abutments and bent caps with sheared or exposed reinforcing steel (primarily affecting earwall structures) Replace bridge riprap (mow strip) and metal beam guard fence (MBGF) Replace damaged sections of bridge concrete T223 rail Mitigation for north and south bridge approaches: remove damaged gabion baskets (downstream end of both bridge approaches) and place approximately 5,075 S.F. of 5 reinforced concrete riprap (up and downstream ends of both bridge approaches), rip rap in conformance with CRR detail sheet. The following are incorporated: General Provisions, Technical Specifications, Addenda issued prior to receipt of bid, Plans, Instructions to Bidders, and Proposal. Some of these documents may not be physically attached but are on file at the Kerr County Engineering Department and copies may be obtained upon request. Instructions to bidders: Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the County Clerk until the specified date and time, and will be opened and read aloud at the specified location and time. The date and time of bid opening shall be clearly marked on the outside of the sealed envelope. No bids will be accepted after the deadline. Bidding documents may be examined at the Engineering Department Office or on the Countys website, and free copies may be obtained (limit one per contractor). Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond payable to Kerr County in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid. Contracts exceeding $50,000 must include a payment bond for the full amount; contracts over $100,000 must include both payment and performance bonds, each at 100% of total contract price. No bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. All questions regarding the project shall be directed to the County Engineer.
