The Project consists of but not limited to: The repair and painting of existing exterior metal fire escapes. Provide new level landings and walkways at the rear of the building. Question Deadline 10/24/2025 at 11:00 AM ET General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates) and made payable to the MARBLEHEAD HOUSING AUTHORITY. Note: A bid deposit is not required for Projects advertised under $50,000. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO). The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Scope of work is outlined below but not limited to the following: o Fire escapes to be fully repaired to comply with IBC Section 1001.3.1: Maintenance of Exterior Stairs and Fire Escapes. o Reinforce all structural connections by installing new galvanized bolts on the fire escape platforms. Reference Images #1 & #2 o Cut away all deteriorated steel on the existing fire escapes to prepare for new reinforcements. See images #3 - #4 o Fabricate new steel in areas where deteriorated sections have been removed. Ensure all replacements are securely welded to replace rotted steel. o Secure all loose guard railings and steel bar-grated floors with appropriate bolts. o Reinforce structural steel connections by adding new structural cement to all fire escape egresses.
