Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Clearwater, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The scope of the project includes removal of the existing 36"x100' box culvert, disposal of the existing box culvert, unusable aggregate and street millings, installation of new bedding aggregate, installation of a new 36"x100' arch culvert, and replacement of the street with appropriate materials. All labor, materials, and machinery--including replacement of street paving, inlets, and all other incidental work - are to be provided. The contractor must furnish all equipment and materials to the specifications of the village and is responsible for applying and paying for all necessary permits. A Form W-9 and certificate of liability insurance must be provided by all contractors and subcontractors before work begins. Invoices are to be submitted to the Village Clerk for board approval before payment. A qualified professional contractor should have experience with projects of similar scope and size. Bidders may bid all or part of the project. Proposals will be judged on technical expertise in connection with the proposed scope (40 points), capacity to perform the work within the time limits provided (30 points), and proposed cost and fee schedule (30 points). No elaborate or expensive presentation aids are necessary or encouraged. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked as specified. Total possible points, 100 points Elaborate and expensive presentation aids are neither necessary nor encouraged. After an initial review, interviews may be conducted followed by a rescoring of proposals. The contractor's proposal that best meets the needs of the village will be considered. Negotiations of the contractor's pro posed scope of services and con tract amount may be conducted after the selection of the respondent's proposal.
