Fifth Avenue Water Main and Roadway Improvements. The City of Watertown is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to perform Fifth Avenue Water Main and Roadway Improvements. Question Deadline 11/04/2025 at 12:00 PM ET Questions concerning their IFB must be submitted by email to Purchasing@Watertown-ma.gov. The work consists of water main replacement as well as roadway pavement reconstruction and related work for Fifth Avenue within the City of Watertown, as directed by the DPW Director or City Engineer. The general characteristics and details of the work to be performed under this contract are outlined in the special provisions provided. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, installation of temporary water utility by-pass, removal and replacement of existing water main infrastructure, removal and replacement of residential water services, testing, chlorination and disinfection of utilities per applicable standards, coordination with City staff and regional regulators (where applicable), and appurtenant work. Scope of work also extends to the restoration of the existing roadway with full depth reclamation, pavement milling, hot mix asphalt paving, installation of new curbing, removing & resetting existing granite curbing, reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, ADA/AAB compliant pedestrian curb ramps and driveway aprons, minor drainage improvements, green infrastructure enhancements, signing, pavement markings, and related work as directed by the DPW Director or City Engineer. Bids shall be based on the construction plans, construction details, items, and special provisions included as part of the contract book.
