Site work for a water / sewer project in Portland, Oregon. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work includes disassembling Unit 10's headcover and removing and replacing the packing box. The contractor will fabricate and supply a new packing box and other wear components required to return the headcover assembly to service. Tasks include disassembly of the existing top plate and related components, installation of a new government-furnished top plate, new packing box, and related components. An optional line item is included for refurbishment of the damaged packing box to be retained on-site as a spare. The contractor must perform basic alignment of the new top plate and packing box, including doweling into position, while the government will handle commissioning and final packing adjustments. Installation must be completed without full disassembly of the oil head, thrust bearing, and rotor, requiring complex rigging procedures to lower components into the turbine pit. Location: John Day Dam, 81900 Dike Road, Rufus, OR 97050 c. Estimated Construction Cost (ECC): The current ECC is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Ref.
