Renovation of a detention facility in Pekin, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The project involves replacing the original boilers and controls at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Pekin. Work includes draining the existing system, removing the current boiler, hot water supply and return piping as required, and disconnecting existing main power and gas piping. The contractor will provide and install a new Aldrich or equivalent boiler, new expansion tank, new hot water supply and return piping, new boiler pump, low water cutoffs and safeties, and new flue connections as required. Existing main power wiring and gas piping will be reconnected. The scope also includes delivery of all new materials, startup, and testing to ensure proper communication with the current Siemens systems. All old hardware, tanks, pipes, and related components will be removed from the grounds by the contractor. The estimated magnitude of the project lies between $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
