Disclaimer: IN ORDER FOR YOUR BID TO BE CONSIDERED A LEGAL BONAFIDE BIDDER ON THE PROJECT, DOCUMENTS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM REMINGTON, VERNICK ENGINEERS DIRECTLY Police Station Holding Cell Alterations, Municipal Complex - Requests for Information (RFI) is 5:00 PM, on Monday, February 23, 2026: The deadline for all questions, comments, or Requests for Information (RFI). Any submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Maple Shade in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Base Bid: Scope of work is limited to proposed improvements in Sally Port 155, Storage 154, Processing Room 129, Holding No. 1 133, Holding No. 2 132 and limited scope in Passage 128A. The selective demolition and rehabilitation of an interior portion of the first floor of the Maple Shade Police Department, located at 200 North Stiles Avenue, Maple Shade Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. The Work includes rehabilitation of existing cell areas to create two enlarged holding cells in compliance with N.J.A.C. 10A:34 and a new processing room with direct to existing vehicular sally port, as indicated. The scope of the limit of work is on concrete slab. The exact slab thickness is unknown, but based on existing plans, a thickness of 5" can be assumed for pricing. Ensure the safety and operational efficiency of both the construction activities and the ongoing office work. The construction site will be fully enclosed within the defined limit of work. This enclosure will prevent any disruption or safety hazards to employees in the office space. The boundaries of the construction zone will be clearly marked, with appropriate barriers, signage, and access control measures in place to maintain a secure and safe environment for all personnel. Contractor to ensure minimizing any impact on the day-to-day office operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. If construction is to take place during winter or in weather below freezing, heaters and/or measures to prevent utility pipes from freezing to be included in the cost of the scope. Demolition of exiting concrete masonry walls within existing holding cells, as indicated. Demolition of existing drains within proposed holding cell area 32 and 133, as indicated. Furnish and install new drain outside of proposed holding cell area 132 and 133, as indicated. Furnish and install new reinforced concrete masonry cell walls with new precast concrete plank ceilings in the enlarged holding cells, as indicated. Furnish and install new corrections grade doors with food pass/cuff port and pull-type safety door and frames in the new and the altered holding cells, as indicated. Holding cell doors are security type hollow-core metal (minimum 12 gauge) steel. Contractor shall utilize DNS Solutions LLC, Vineland, NJ to furnish and install P-640HA Patagonia Proximity Reader & Keypads proximity readers and emergency push buttons with balance of hardware including electrical components supplied under this scope, at a price of actual cost plus 5% markup for overhead. Any additional costs associated with this work shall be included in the other items listed in the Bid Form. DNS will be pulling and installing wires from proximity readers and push buttons. Furnish and install new cell doors shall be provided with manually operated corrections locks. Finishes shall include new vitreous paint on walls and ceilings of holding and new processing room. Holding rooms and processing area shall receive seamless epoxy flooring. Adjacent spaces shall be painted with latex paint and/or patched to match existing. Acoustic ceilings shall be replaced where indicated and patched to match existing where disturbed by new construction. Furnish and install concrete strip footing for the proposed concrete masonry unit wall, as indicated. Cell walls are eight-inch concrete blocks with cement containing vertical reinforcement rods every 12 inches. Furnish and install concrete masonry unit wall, as indicated. Furnish and install concrete footings and piers. This includes but is not limited to all rebar, anchorage, formwork and subgrade required for the complete installation of the concrete foundations, as indicated Furnish and install HSS 4x4x3/8". This includes furnishment, installation, and attachment of L5x5x1/4" angles to the columns and concrete masonry unit walls as well as all accessories including but not limited to base plates, anchor bolts, and all related appurtenances, as indicated. Furnish and install HSS 8x6x5/8" beams, as indicated. Furnish and install L6x4x5/16" angles, as indicated. Temporarily support all precast concrete plank ceilings during the construction of the project. Restoring the concrete floor slab as required after all renovations have been completed. Use the existing electrical panel for all new circuits. Purchase and installation of new electric heaters for Sally Port and Storage, as indicated. Installation and relocation of ductwork for air redistribution, as indicated. Installation of maximum-security grilles for all duct openings in holding spaces, as indicated. Installation of common electrical including rigging, flatbeds, conduit, wiring for light fixtures, receptacles, and lighting controls, as indicated. Installation of new smoke detectors for renovated areas and wiring to existing fire panel alarm, as indicated. Installation of new vandal resistant light fixtures, as indicated. Install new light switches for renovated areas, as indicated. Coordination with Township personnel or outside consultants as needed. Alternate No. 1: Furnish and installation of heavy-duty hollow metal door and frame with associated hardware and partition work at the opening of Corridor 147 to Passage 128A, as indicated. Contractor shall utilize DNS Solutions LLC, Vineland, NJ to furnish and install P-640HA Patagonia Proximity Reader & Keypads proximity readers and emergency push buttons with balance of hardware including electrical components supplied under this scope, at a price of actual cost plus 5% markup for overhead. Any additional costs associated with this work shall be included in the other items listed in the Bid Form. DNS will be pulling and installing wires from proximity readers and push buttons. Alternate No. 2: Furnish and installation of one layer of 1/2-inch plywood overlain with 1/2-inch gypsum board applied to the faces of the partitions in Technology Room 128 and Passage 128A, as indicated. Alternate No. 3: Furnish and installation of 1/2-inch fiber reinforced gypsum walls applied to the faces of the partitions in Technology Room 128 and Passage 128A, as indicated.
