Prequalification Package 1061 - CB Membrane Roofing, Copper Roof and Metal Cladding Applicable to Scaled Scopes: A. Subcontract Tenders for Membrane Roofing up to $5,000,000 only, and/or B. Subcontract Tenders for Copper Roofing and Metal Cladding up to $5,000,000 only OR C. Subcontract Tenders for Copper Roofing and Metal Cladding up to $35,000,000 only. Prequalified Bidders will provide pricing in conjunction with drawings, specifications, and CENTRUS' design intent document(s), for the fabrication, and installation, including all labour, material, equipment and supervision required for the new membrane roofing and/or new copper roofing and metal cladding and detailed heritage copper elements at the Centre Block building. It comprises of a complex assembly of sloped and flat roofs made up of sheet copper roofing, with a batten seam roofing system, originally built between 1918-1919. The copper roof system on the South façade was replaced in 1997. The sloped copper roof is made up of 16oz copper sheathing (20oz on the South façade) over weatherproofing, covering several decorative and structural roof elements including dormer windows, turrets, chimneys, and pavilion towers with decorative copper cresting, louvers, and spiers. Historic lead flashing exists to protect heritage masonry elements. As part of the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, we require a subcontractor(s) who possesses the skills, experience, and knowledge to recreate detailed heritage copper roof elements. Bidders shall demonstrate how their experience will be beneficial to the project. Qualified Subcontractors must be skilled and accomplished copper roof subcontractors, capable of carefully installing new membrane roofing and/or new copper roofing and metal cladding with materials, techniques, and quality workmanship, following building conservation standards and guidelines, as specified. Subcontractor's Scope of Work includes but is not limited to the provision of all required labour, material, equipment and services for the following: - Flat membrane roofing assemblies, sloped copper roofing assemblies, roof flashings and trims, detailed copper roof elements, (including batten seam, standing seam and decorative elements), roof gutters, metal cladding, metal stud framing and parapets, roof curbs, and roof anchors. - New sloped copper roofing assemblies, roof flashings and trims, detailed copper roof elements, roof gutters as required by contract documents. - Roofing assemblies to include all roof substrates above the metal decking including plywood, backing and blocking, framing, roof sheathing, insulation, vapour barrier, roofing membrane and roof protection/finishes. - All roof transitions with adjacent materials and finishes including masonry facades and glass roofing to be coordinated with others, as part of the Roofing and Cladding scope of work. - All roof penetrating services and accessories to be supplied and installed by others. Supply and install of roof assembly terminations at penetrating services and accessories to be provided as part of the Roofing and Cladding scope of work. - Asset documentation, applicable submittals and mock-ups as per the CENTRUS specification. This singular prequalification call will be for various packages including but not limited to the packages listed below: - Roofing & Cladding (North Towers) - Roofing & Cladding (Peace Tower) - Roofing & Cladding (Centre Block) The Scopes of Work will be further detailed in the tenders to Bidders who successfully prequalify. The Work may be packaged as the CM determines is best for the project. The Subcontractor must demonstrate as requested in 6.3.2 Major Projects and Ongoing Projects and 6.3.3 Comparable Projects that they are capable of completing the above noted work within large buildings which include new build, rehabilitation, and renovation work to buildings of similarly significant value (refer to scope scales), buildings which share many of the same scope, scale and complexity details noted in 1.2 Project Description and Project Considerations as defined in Section 1.3 for buildings which have similar quality of finish. This applies to both company and personnel. Furthermore, the Subcontractor must demonstrate that they are capable of completing/meeting the following: a) Supply and install of new membrane roofing and/or new copper roofing and metal cladding at Centre Block, within a significant heritage building and/or other significant structure. b) Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply and installation of membrane roofing and/or copper roof assemblies and metal cladding. c) Minimum of 10 years of experience in supervisory/management of supply and installation of membrane roofing and/or copper roof assemblies and metal cladding.
