Sealed bids are requested for general tree work and equipment for hire to various Town Departments for the upcoming year. All bids must be submitted on furnished forms, sealed, and appropriately marked. Bidders must comply with Department of Public Works specifications and submit bids on the proper forms. All wages must meet prevailing wage rates per General Laws and bidders must submit a certified weekly payroll to the Highway Department. A Bid Bond (5% of the estimated price) must accompany each bid. The successful bidder must provide Labor and Materials Payment Bond and Performance Bond, each for 50% of the estimated annual contract item usage. Successful bidders must submit a Certificate of Insurance for several liabilities and handle all necessary trench permits and DIG SAFE requirements. The contract term is one year from the date of award, renewable twice for additional one-year terms each. Labor must be able to work harmoniously with all others employed. Contractors must indemnify and hold the Town harmless from liability arising from negligence or performance. The Highway Superintendent reserves the right to accept, reject, waive informality, or divide the award as deemed in the Town’s best interest, and not utilize any bidder based on eligibility or performance. All contract price adjustments must be included in invoices.
