Sealed proposals from qualified general contractors will be received for the reroofing at Thurgood Marshall Middle School. Bids must be submitted in duplicate and accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond payable to Conecuh County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the proposal, but not exceeding $10,000. Performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. All contractors must provide evidence of proper licensing for the classification of work for this project. General contractor bidders may obtain digital copies of drawings and specifications from the architect upon application for bid, and will then be placed on the official bidders list. Hard copies may be purchased from Alabama Graphics. Addenda and proposal information will only be issued to those on the official bidders list. Bids from contractors not on this list may not be accepted or opened. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the architect or copies thereof, as issued in the contract documents or by addendum. General contractors shall not use proposal forms other than those provided. All bidders bidding above the state licensing board limits must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, with the license number displayed on the outside of the sealed bid envelope. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors as appropriate.
