Renovation of a water / sewer project in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project generally consists of rehabilitation of up to 3 existing concrete and bolted steel storage tanks. Bidding requirements, bonds, insurance, and other project requirements are detailed in the Bid Documents. Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable bid security payable to the Owner in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. If awarded the construction contract, the Contractor will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds. The tank level probe sensor is attached to a 4" threaded nipple that penetrates into the roof. Disassemble the probe wiring and replace the 4" nipple with new and weld in place. Surface prepare the interior of the tank where welding damages the coating and apply a 100% solids epoxy coating to restore protection to the steel substrate. Install a new roof hatch gasket per specified type and supplier. BID ITEMS: 1. Lump Sum to furnish all material, equipment, labor, superintendence and incidental work to replace 4" nipple by welding and re-connect the level probe. Prepare the adjacent surfaces on the interior and exterior by SSPC SP11 (MBX Bristle Blaster) and apply 18 mils of Tnemec Series 22 Epoxy. 2. Lump Sum to furnish all material, equipment, labor, superintendence and incidental work to replace the Roof Hatch Gasket. Provide a slip on gasket by McMaster-Carr and glue in place. 3. Unit Cost per Hour to furnish all material, equipment, labor, superintendence and incidental work for corrosion repairs by means deemed necessary by Engineer or Inspector. The rate is based on (20) man-hoursfor welding, grinding, epoxy surfacing with Tnemec Series 215, seam sealing w/Sika Flex 1a. material. COATING SPECIFICATION: Interior Surface Preparation Clean interior surface around weld repair per SSPC-SP11 Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal with Anchor profile shall be 1.5 minimum per ASTM D 4417, Method C or NACE Standard SP0287. Interior Coating System: Spot Repair Coat: Tnemec Series 22 Epoxoline applied at 16- to 18 dry mils. Thin only as instructed in manufacturers data sheets. Exterior Surface Preparation Clean exterior surface around new nipple and weld repair per SSPC-SP11 Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal with Anchor profile shall be 1.5 minimum per ASTM D 4417, Method C or NACE Standard SP0287. Apply a Exterior Coating System Spot Prime Coat: Tnemec Series 1 Omnithane applied at 2.5 to 3.5 dry mils. Thin only as instructed in manufacturers data sheets. Spot Finish Coat: Tnemec Series 1094 (color match existing) Endura-Shield applied at 3.0 to 5.0 dry mils. Thin only as instructed in manufacturers data sheets
