Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Christiansburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

**As of December 01, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The Town of Christiansburg is accepting quotes for the renovation of the lobby and the office area of the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Center. This project consists of the interior renovation of some spaces within the Christiansburg Recreation Center. The existing lounge beside the main entry will be enclosed and converted to a conference room. The existing conference room in the office area will be divided with two walls into a break room and a small office. A wall will be added along a countertop at the secretary area, to separate the area from the remainder of the office area. The project includes the construction of six walls, the installation of one singe door and one double door, the modification of some ceiling grid and ceiling tiles, the modification of some light fixtures and some electric receptacles, and the modification of some ceiling HVAC grilles and diffusers. Alterations to any building or structure shall comply with the requirements of the Virginia Construction Code (VCC) for new construction. Alterations shall be such that the existing building or structure is no less conforming to the provisions of the VCC than the existing building or structure was prior to the alteration. Portions of the building or structure not being altered shall not be required to comply with the requirements of the VCC. (VEBC Section 601.1) This project shall be a Level 2 alteration since it includes the addition and elimination of doors, the addition and elimination of walls and ceiling assemblies, the reconfiguration of various systems, and the installation of equipment, materials, elements, and fixtures. (VEBC Section 601.2.2) The altered space shall be accessible. (VEBC Section 404) Alterations shall be done in a manner that maintains the level of fire protection that is existing and the level of protection that is existing for the means of egress. (VEBC Section 602.2) All permits required will be purchased by the Contractor and the cost will be included in the Total Cost of the Project on the Bid Sheet. Construction will occur as soon as possible, but no later than January 16, 2026. Please provide expected completion date with price. Question Deadline 11/14/2025 If any prospective contractor has questions about the specifications or other solicitation documents, the prospective contractor should contact the Town official or purchasing agent whose name appears on the face of the solicitation no later than three (3) working days before the due date. The contractor may be asked to submit such questions in writing. Any revisions to the solicitation will be made only by addendum issued by the Town or purchasing agent.
