Reference Number 0000305828 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/11/09 02:00:00 PM NST This project consists of a feasibility study to evaluate: Potential Options for a Water Treatment System for the Town of Mclvers. The scope of work for completion of a feasibility study for construction of a water treatment system in the town of Mclvers would include: confirmation of flow measurements including analysis of methods to optimize water demand, confirmation of water system modelling, confirmation of source water analysis including review of THM/HAA levels, completion of site selection and selection of treatment processes, completion of cost analysis including lifespan analysis, operational costs, construction cost, maintenance cost, etc. The town of Mclvers experiences high levels of discolouration, HAA's, and THM's inn their drinking water. This has been an issue for many years. If this problem is not addressed the town will continue to have water quality issues, this is a constant occurrence for the town. The town does not have an existing water treatment plant. The town only operates a chlorination system. The town would like to complete a study regarding options for construction of a water treatment facility in their town. The final report must include opinions of options, probable costs broken out by major system component(s) and provided in such a manner for future budgeting and project master planning for the community for future municipal capital works funding applications. The final report and work could be summarized in the following areas: you may wish to expand or modify, these are the expectations of your evaluation/study/assessment report: 1. Water Demands, 2. Review of Water Quality data, 3. Distribution System Configuration - Review existing infrastructure to determine possible plant location and restrictions given the flow demands, 4. Treatment requirements, water treatment, 5. Reporting and Cost estimates, 6. Water CAD model is anticipated to be required. Please provide a separate price for a water CAD model. Execution of this scope of work will be determined after the successful proponent has been selected. 2 The design and installation of new infrastructure, along with any associated construction, may take place as a separate project following the successful completion of this study. .3 The project must adhere to the Newfoundland and Labrador Climate Change Lens Part 2: Assessment and Integration of Resilience and Mitigation Measures document, and completion of the NL Climate Change Lens Part 2 form must be completed prior to any construction on this project. 4 Proponents are advised that the final scope of work must be coordinated with the Owner, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (TI), and the Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC). Consultant's work is limited to the identified project description and location as found in this RFP and NO WORK is authorized to be completed outside of this scope of work unless authorized by the Regional Office of MI. Specific scope change forms are required for MI's review. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
