Description: This project consists of a demolition down to the wood substrate, cleanup, and replacement of all felt, flashing, and architectural shingles on 5 different buildings in the complex. 1. Hatchery Building Square feet approximately: 1500 or approximately 57 bundles of shingles The contractor is responsible for measurement verification Please allow for 100 sq. ft. of decking replacement due to unforeseen deterioration or rot. Decking is 1x dimensional lumber. 2. Feed Building Square feet approximately: 1500 or approximately 57 bundles of shingles The contractor is responsible for measurement verification Please allow for 100 sq. ft. of decking replacement due to unforeseen deterioration or rot. Decking is 1x dimensional lumber. 3. Restroom Building Square feet approximately: 450 or approximately 19 bundles of shingles The contractor is responsible for measurement verification Please allow 25 Square feet of decking replacement due to unforeseen deterioration or rot. Decking is 1x dimensional lumber. 4. Main office building Square feet approximately: 1850 or approximately 69 bundles of shingles The contractor is responsible for measurement verification Please allow 100 sq. ft. of decking replacement due to unforeseen deterioration or rot. 5. Pump/generator House Square feet approximately: 150 or approximately 7 bundles of shingles The contractor is responsible for measurement verification A. Shingles shall be 30-year architectural shingles, using a minimum of 30 lb. underlayment or better. New metal drip edge shall be installed and be of a coordinated color. All pipe flashing/boots shall be replaced with in-kind or better, Being fastened according to manufacturer's recommendations. B. Shingles shall be Owens Corning Duration series, the color being Brownwood. Underlayment shall be a synthetic felt type equal to a minimum of 30lb. felt. Shingles shall be fastened using hot dipped galvanized steel wire shingle nails, 1 1/4 " in length. Ridge caps shall be fastened using hot dipped galvanized steel nail, 1 1/2 " in length. All valleys shall receive a 36" wide liner or self-adhered membrane underlayment or equivalent. C. Safety protocols shall always be in place in work areas due to the likely interaction with visitors to and around the site. Safety procedures shall be followed in accordance with OSHA recommendations. Coordination with area staff is required prior to any closures of pedestrian walkways or means of egress.
