The City of East Palo Alto (City) is pleased to announce a request for proposal (RFP) to engage a qualified and professional company for tree maintenance services for the City of East Palo Alto. The selection of the successful proposer will be based on a combination of factors, including the total cost outlined, the scope of services offered, the performance history, and the overall reliability of the proposing company. The City of East Palo Alto maintains approximately 8,000 street trees. This Request for Proposals (RFP) solicits responses from qualified contractors to provide on-call, as-needed tree maintenance services, as well as emergency tree maintenance services. Services may include, but are not limited to: Grid tree pruning Tree cutting Complete tree removal Stump grinding These services shall be provided at the request of the City's Maintenance Department. The selected contractor will be invited to enter into a contract with the City based on their submitted proposal. A sample agreement is provided in Section 8 of this RFP. Please note: Compensation for fluctuating fuel prices will not be separately provided. Contractors should factor any fuel cost variability into their proposed pricing. Licenses and Permits Contractor must hold valid C-27 and D-49 licenses, in good standing for the past five (5) consecutive years. Must maintain a current City of East Palo Alto Business License. All personnel must be trained and certified per applicable standards. OSHA 1910.269 training is required when working near energized conductors or electrical hazards. Initial term: Five (5) years Renewal: Up to two (2) additional one-year extensions upon mutual agreement.
