This is the Phase 2 solicitation following an Invitation to Qualify. Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid. The proposed Wilp Ho’dix Hatchery will be located in the community of Gitanyow, BC. The project is part of the Pacific Salmon Strategy Initiative, to help stem the ongoing decline of at-risk Pacific salmon stocks. Hatcheries are an effective method to reverse declines while effectively accelerating the time needed to rebuild endangered stocks, while other short-term and longer-term measures like habitat restoration and environmental legislation are implemented in parallel to support population growth. The new hatchery will provide the required tools and infrastructure for rebuilding, conserving, and sustaining the wild salmon populations of this area. The work of this proposed contract comprises the construction of a new community-based salmon hatchery in Gitanyow, BC. The hatchery is located on-reserve on Gitanyow IR1. Site preparation work has previously been completed to clear the site and establish flood construction levels. Construction work and activities anticipated under this contract include, but are not limited to: Mobilization and demobilization; Site access improvements for materials and equipment; Environmental management, sediment and erosion control; Building foundation preparation and construction; Installation of hatchery water supply, domestic and fire protection waterlines, sanitary and storm water piping, culverts, electrical conduits, communication, and other utilities; Construction of a hatchery building, interior incubation, fish culture areas and all finishing works; All building mechanical and electrical systems; Utility and power supply connections; Installation and plumbing of outdoor rearing tanks; Construction of an aeration tower, head tank and water supply connections; Pump installation, associated controls and water supply connections; Installation and commissioning of backup power supply systems; Installation of hatchery process water monitoring, controls, and automation systems; Installation of fencing, site grading, and construction of road surfaces, and; Grading and construction of site road/pathways, environmental controls, and overall site drainage.
