It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe fire door inspection services being requested by the Alameda County General Services Agency (GSA)-Building Maintenance Department (BMD). The County intends to award a three-year contract (with the option to renew for two years) to a single bidder for all regions or a multi-award up to three (3) bidders, one (1) Bidder per designated region, selected as the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder whose response meets the County's requirements. GSA-BMD is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational upkeep of a vast array of facilities. This includes over 182 buildings, such as administrative offices, courthouses, youth centers, veterans memorial halls, parking structures, and detention facilities. GSA-BMD's department stores are a collective area of approximately 8.1 million square feet. GSA-BMD ensures that each facility remains not only functional but also conducive to the needs of the community, providing a safe and welcoming environment for employees, residents, and visitors. GSA-BMD is seeking contractor(s) to provide testing, inspection, repair, and maintenance of fire doors for County buildings in accordance with the most recent standards set forth by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), California Code of Regulations (CCOR)--Title 19, and any other present-day local, state, federal, and NFPA codes or requirements.
