Concrete coring will be performed in the 110-foot by 1,200-foot main lock chamber and the 110-foot by 600-foot auxiliary lock chamber, specifically at monoliths adjacent to the Poiree dam sill. Both vertical and horizontal coring of concrete will be required. Additionally, concrete wiresawing will be performed in the auxiliary lock chamber only, at locations where coring was executed, involving both vertical and horizontal sawing of concrete. Floating plant support may be necessary for some features of the work. The work will involve both vertical and horizontal sawing of concrete. Concrete wiresawing operations shall be as specified in Section 02 41 16 CONCRETE CORING AND WIRESAWING. 1.1.3 Miscellaneous Steel and Reinforcement All concrete that is to be cut shall be assumed to have typical steel reinforcement as shown on the Reference Drawings.
