Demolition, site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Orient, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.

Removal of select play equipment, concrete foundations, and poured in place safety surfacing and replacement with new play equipment and safety surface tiles on porous pavement, bound by an accessible colored concrete perimeter path. The project includes new benches, perimeter post and rope fencing as well as new tree and dune grass plantings in and surrounding the play area. Bidders must register with the Bureau of Public Work and Prevailing Wage Enforcement and submit a digital copy of their company's registration certificate with their bid. Failure to provide the registration certificate at bid opening will result in automatic disqualification. The apparent low bidder must also provide copies of registration certificates for all subcontractors on their approved Utilization Plan before subcontractors commence work. Any contracts over $5,000 for work on State building construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, or improvement allow a responsible and reliable NYS certified Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise that submits a bid within ten percent of the lowest bid (provided the bid is $1,677,139 or less) to be deemed the apparent low bidder. If multiple MWBE firms meet this requirement, the one with the lowest bid is deemed the apparent low bidder.
