Site work for a water / sewer project in San Andreas, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of December 12, 2025 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on January 2026.** The Sawmill tank is located near the community of Arnold on a mountaintop at an approximate elevation of 4,500 feet above mean sea level. Access to the site is via Tank Road, a one-lane unpaved road that is steep with many tight turns. The road is not plowed and is inaccessible except by snow machine in the winter. The District desires to have the two replacement tanks constructed during the spring through fall seasons. The existing welded steel tank has a capacity of 3 million gallons but will be replaced by two 0.5- million-gallon bolted glass-lined steel tanks. The existing tank suffers from water quality issues due to being oversized and has reached the end of its useful life. Once the new tanks are constructed and commissioned, the existing tank and existing tank gravel pad will be decommissioned and are to be removed from the site. The project includes significant site grading and piping. Figure 1 identifies the project location. The Wallace tank is located near the community of Wallace, south of Camanche Reservoir. The site is generally flat within the proximity of the tank and is easily accessed via an unpaved access drive from Wallace Lake Drive. The existing welded steel tank is 0.22 million gallons and will be replaced by a single 0.23-million gallon glass-lined bolted steel tank. This project will require installation of three (3) 8,000- gallon temporary tanks and temporary above-ground piping. The existing tank and concrete foundation are to be removed from the site once the temporary tanks have been installed and commissioned. The new replacement tank and concrete foundation will be constructed in the same location as the existing tank. Once the permanent tank is commissioned, the temporary tanks and piping will be decommissioned and removed from the site. The project requires only minor grading, and permanent site piping is minimal. Figure 1 identifies the project location. These two tank replacement projects have individual CIP project numbers, but will have a combined bid schedule and must be bid, invoiced, and tracked together. Both sites are each less than one (1) acre and are greater than 1/4 mile apart. Therefore, a formal SWPPP is not required for these projects, but a construction BMP plan is provided in the plan set. Both projects are CEQA-Exempt. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on October 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM starting at the Wallace SCOPE OF WORK A. The Work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all equipment, materials, supplies, and manufactured articles, and furnishing all shipping and transportation and services, and performing all work or other operations required for the fulfillment of the Contract in strict accordance with the Contract Documents.
