The project consists of floor infill and office renovations at the first level south of the Johnson County Courthouse. The work includes structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical components. All work is to be done under a single General Construction Contract that includes respective structural, mechanical, and electrical work; segregated bids will not be accepted. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany each bid as per Instructions to Bidders. Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required for the full amount of the contract. Products and materials incorporated into the work are exempt from Iowa sales tax and local option sales tax. By statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. A Bidder Status Form must be completed regarding the contractor's resident status within the State of Iowa. Failure to complete this form may result in rejection. Bidders are encouraged to examine the project site before submitting a bid. The Architect's Opinion of Probable Cost is $1,600,000.
