Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for an educational facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
Administration Building Abatement and Demolition Project. The University of Alberta plans to demolish the building and restore the site. The plan is to design demolition drawings that will include selective salvage on some of the components and materials, which will be determined during the design process. Since the plaza design is still ongoing, the site will be turned into green space. The design will also incorporate the hazmat abetment based on procedure supplied by the University. In addition, the design will include the civil and landscaping after the demolition is completed, including selective tree removal if required. TIMELINE: Selective Demo and salvage will be done March - April 2026 followed by demolition and backfill/landscaping between July - September 2026. Further details will not be released for publication. Project details may be updated if/once a public tender has been issued by the owner. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
