Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot.
The work to be performed includes improvements over an approximately 0.3-acre area across three City blocks. Work involves providing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidental items necessary for completion of the following: - Traffic control for pedestrians and vehicles - Demolition and removal of existing pedestrian concrete paving, brick pavers, curb ramps, portions of driveways, aprons and curbs, concrete curbs at planting areas, and landscape elements - Construction of new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, portions of vehicular driveways, aprons, and curbs, enhanced integral color concrete paving, decorative embedded metal inlays with anti-slip coating (bid alternate), pedestrian concrete paving, raised truncated domes at signalized vehicular crossings, disintegrated granite at existing tree wells, and decorative epoxy-modified acrylic coating on existing crosswalk concrete paving - Installation of site furnishings, irrigation, landscape planting, refinishing select existing vehicular light poles and mast poles with new paint and existing bench seating (bid alternate), and related site development - Protection in place of certain existing features such as concrete paving, pedestrian lighting, palm trees/trees, and utilities Bidders must provide proposals for all work. Instructions include: - Contractors must possess a valid California Class A Contractor license at the time of bid submission - Minimum qualifications apply as specified in project specifications - Bid security of not less than 10% of the bid must be scanned, uploaded, and submitted to the City Clerk with the bid - Compliance with the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program and Citywide Project Labor Agreement (PLA) is mandatory - Prevailing wage requirements apply - Certified payrolls must be maintained and submitted electronically as specified by the City - Attendance at both a mandatory pre-bid conference and a site walk-through is required for all prospective bidders - Plans and specifications are available for registered users through the City's provided website Bids must be for the entirety of the described work and bidders failing to adhere to licensing, security, or qualification requirements may be deemed non-responsive.
