Remodeling of an educational facility in Stockton, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 15,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

**As of January 08, 2026, the awarded contractor is Better Enterprises, Inc, with an awarded amount of $109,807.20.** Remove and properly dispose of all 12 x 12 tile flooring and baseboards on the 1st floor of Manlio Silva Elementary School. Verify total area before starting, estimated at approximately 15,000 square feet. Ensure minimal damage to underlying concrete during tile removal. Provide dumpster and dispose of all tile, adhesive, and debris in accordance with local waste regulations. Scrape glue and clean concrete surface to remove all adhesive and contaminants. Grind surface imperfections to achieve a smooth, level finish. Use a dust collection system to minimize airborne particulates. Patch and repair any damaged or uneven areas to ensure a uniform surface. Power scrub and/or wet mop the entire surface to remove all dust. Apply commercial-grade densifier per manufacturer's recommendations. Apply district-approved color or stain provided by the contractor, ensuring consistent, uniform coverage without blotches or streaks. Polish concrete to a semi-gloss finish using a multi-step polishing process. Apply compatible sealant or guard to protect the surface and improve durability. Finished floor must be smooth, uniform, slip-resistant, and free of defects or haze. Provide and install new black rubber baseboards throughout. Perform final cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, and doors. Include asbestos removal/abatement as required. All bids shall be on the form provided by the District. Each bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the Instructions to Bidders. Pre-qualification requirements: To bid on this project, the bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California contractors license: A, B, and/or C-15. The bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the contract. The bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations. Only prequalified bidders will be eligible to submit a bid for this project. Contractors can apply for pre-qualification via the district PQBids website. A bid bond by an admitted surety insurer, a cashier's check, or a certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price must accompany the bid. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if awarded the contract. The contractor and all subcontractors must pay prevailing wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations. RFI Due Tuesday, November 18th , 2025, by 1:00 P.M. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
