The Department of Water Resources requires specialized maintenance on 12 of the 13 motors used by the Devils Lake Outlets for pumping operations. The maintenance will consist of either reconditioning (including standardized procedures such as motor dismantling, mechanical parts inspection, balancing, cleaning, bearing replacement, tolerance testing, insulation testing, and vibration testing) or rewinding (which includes reconditioning and restoring the motor’s electrical function) depending on the motor's condition. This maintenance will not modify or improve the motor’s capacity or function beyond its original specifications. There are two types of motors involved: 1250 HP vertical GE Motors and 2000 HP vertical US Motors. Maintenance will be scheduled on a rotating, 6-year basis during the winter months, and vendors must be located within North Dakota due to transport and timing restrictions. Interested vendors are to submit a response that includes company and contact information, a detailed point-by-point response to each described requirement, specifications demonstrating compliance, any value-added offerings, and cost details including shipping and handling. Submissions must be uploaded electronically through the State Procurement Office Online system, following all formatting and file instructions provided.
