Bids are requested for chemicals to be used at two facilities for the 2026 calendar year. Suppliers may bid on one or more chemicals and awards will be made separately for each chemical. Bids shall be for material manufactured and produced in the United States with NSF 60 standard certification. Chemicals must be delivered FOB Independence, Kansas, with all freight or other related charges listed separately in the quote. Costs due to container deposit, demurrage, cleaning, or re-inventory of empty containers, as well as any minimum delivery charges, should be listed separately. Empty containers must be picked up upon delivery of new chemicals. Freight cost changes during the year can be submitted with sixty (60) day notice. The driver is responsible for having proper equipment to place the order in its storage area. Chemicals, quantities, and delivery specifications are listed by location. Instructions to bidders include: Bids must be received by the specified deadline in a sealed envelope marked accordingly. If mailed, the bid envelope must be enclosed in a separate envelope addressed to the City Clerk and also marked as specified. Email or fax bids will not be accepted. The city and recreation commission reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids or waive irregularities as may best benefit the city. No bidder may withdraw a bid for up to forty-five (45) days after the deadline, though bids may be withdrawn up to twenty-four (24) hours before the deadline.
