Unit 8 turbine-generator will be disassembled, inspected, and repaired as necessary after seven to eight years of cyclical operation. This work is required to replace worn parts, as well as to inspect the turbine and generator for repairs that may be needed to prevent unplanned downtime. The timeframe for this overhaul is recommended by the turbine manufacturer and follows accepted industry standards. The project is included in the City's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
