The City of Fitchburg is seeking qualified contractors to provide snow and ice removal services for the City. Equipment/vehicle inspections must be completed prior to the execution of any contract. Equipment must be inspected by December 5 th to be eligible for the early sign-on rate. Please follow the inspection procedures attached to the contract. Assignments for work under this contract are at the discretion of the Commissioner of Public Works or designee and/or on an "as needed" basis. There is no guarantee the Contractor will be awarded work. Any contractor who fails to report when called will be removed from the call list. Employees of the City of Fitchburg are subject to Chapter 268A of the General Laws regarding Conflict of Interest. Employees who intend to perform work under this Contract shall notify the City of Fitchburg, Human Resources Department and shall not perform any work until receiving written approval from the City. The City may terminate this agreement if the Contractor fails to perform under the terms of this agreement or fails to work in harmony with the City, Commissioner of Public Works, or designee in following instructions or work schedules from such City official(s); if the Contractor sells, assigns, or transfers this Contract to any other party without written approval by the City; or if the Contractor fails to meet any other provisions of this Contract. If requested, all Contractors must attend a meeting with DPW Representatives to review snow and ice removal procedures, communication, routes, and expectations. This document is an AGREEMENT for WINTER OPERATIONS as required by the City of Fitchburg ("the City") for the 2025/2026 season, effective November 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. Instructions for your insurance company are attached; please provide this page to your agent. Insurance certificates must be completed in accordance with the instructions and provided to the City with the Registration/Contract. Emailed or fax copies will not be considered. Contracts that do not include the proper insurance certificate will be returned to you for completion.
