Renovation of a municipal facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 67,392-square-foot, three-story above grade municipal facility.

Records Building - Air Handling Unit Replacement: Base Bid includes installation of a new roof-mounted outside air unit and replacement of five (5) built-up air handling units, including all required controls, fire alarm, and electrical support. One of the air handling units to be replaced serves the first-floor administrative office via a dual duct hot and cold deck air distribution system. This system will be entirely replaced with new duct work and multi zone VAV boxes with hot water reheat. Replacement of this air distribution system will require demolition and replacement of the finished ceiling and all lighting on the first floor. Replacement of an additional two (2) air handling units on the second floor, including all required controls, fire alarm, and electrical support is included as Alternate #1. Alternate #2 is for replacement of an additional air handling unit on the ground including all required controls, fire alarm, and electrical support. Alternate # 3 is for replacement of the hot water pump P-1 and heat exchanger HX-1. Alternate #4 is for replacement of chilled water pump P-3. Alternate #5 is for the preferred brand of Siemens for HVAC controls. Work can be completed during normal business hours. The building will be occupied during construction of the work on the upper floors and the mechanical room. The first floor will be vacated during construction on the first floor. The first floor will require a limited scope of asbestos abatement as detailed in appendix A of the project manual. Bids will be received for Single Prime Construction. All proposals shall be lump sum. Remove Existing Outside Fan and Ductwork. Provide Dedicated Outdoor Air System (Doas-1) Mounted on the Roof. Replace Vertical Shaft Ductwork Serving Each Floor. Remove and Replace Existing Air Handling Units (Ahu-1, Ahu-2, Ahu-3, and Ahu-4) With-in the Building. Reconnect to Existing Ductwork. Remove Existing Dual Duct System Serving the First Floor. Provide a Multi-zone Vav System, Ductwork, Terminal Boxes, and Air Handling Unit (Ahu-7). Replace Ceilings, Lighting, and Ceiling Devices on the First Floor to Facilitate Hvac Work. Electrical Support as Needed for Mechanical Renovations. Fire Alarm Modifications to Support Mechanical Renovations. Work Can Be Completed During Normal Business Hours
