Purchase and Installation of eight infrared heater replacements at the Cleveland Water Treatment Plant, as well as some gas line repairs. The City of Pittsfield is seeking competitive quotes from qualified plumbers to replace 8 infrared heaters at the Cleveland Water Treatment Plant, located at 601 Frank Schnopp Road in Hinsdale, MA. Along with the heater replacement the awarded contractor will perform some gas fitting repairs. Infrared Heater work under this contract shall be as follows: Remove & replace all eight (8) Reznor Heating Units (6 - RIHL 50's and 2 - RIHLVLOO's) o City shall disconnect all units prior to the successful vendor removing old & installing new units. o Successful quote shall be required to install scaffolding for safety & security purposes. o City shall reconnect electrical components once the first section of units has been installed so the successful quoter can confirm that each unit is working properly. o Once the first section is confirmed to be operating properly, vendor shall move to the next section and so on, until all zones are completed. Gas Fitting Repairs under this contract shall be as follows: Remove & re-pipe bot gas risers at the South of the building o Repairs shall start at the outlet side of both exterior gas regulators and end reconnecting to the piping just inside the building. o Vendor shall core drill new holes in the concrete exterior wall and properly sleeve & seal. Successful quoter shall properly remove and dispose of old infrared heaters, leaving the project site broom swept at the end of each workday. Normal work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, unless prior approval is obtained from the Superintendent of Public Services.
