The work consists of the construction of approximately 1.04 miles of grading complete, including approximately 14,427 square yards of 8-inch GAB (graded aggregate base), approximately 1,192 tons of 12.5mm Superpave asphalt, and all appurtenances necessary for a complete job. All work must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed. Bid instructions: Bids must be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications available at the office of the County Commissioner and the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers. Copies of Bid Forms, Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be obtained from Hofstadter and Associates, Inc. upon deposit. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with Long County prior to the designated time, and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, payable to Long County, Georgia, for 10 percent of the amount of the bid. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Long County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals. All applicable requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act and HUD regulations shall be complied with, as applicable. Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to apply.
