The services required under this Request for Proposal (RFP) are those needed to prepare construction contract plans and specifications for the Division of Engineering and Construction, Mayor's Office of Capital Projects, for State Route 283 from Superior Avenue to East 72nd Street, approximately 1.1 miles. E 55th Street from Superior Avenue to St. Clair and St. Clair from E 55th Street to E 72nd Street is designated as State Route (SR) 283 and is classified as a Minor Arterial. The basic scope of work will consist of removing and replacing asphalt wearing course and intermediate course, installing new curbs, walks, and driveway aprons as needed, PROWAG/ADA-compliant curb ramps and landings, roadway drainage, castings adjusted to grade, traffic control improvements including new mast arm signals at East 61st, East 62nd, Addison, East 67th, and East 71st Streets, if traffic study warrants signals in these locations, and reconfiguring the roadways to accommodate separated bikeways and additional safety and mobility focused changes in alignment with the City's goals. This is an urban paving project and the City will administer the design. Construction Administration will be performed by ODOT District 12. Where the following terms such as "Consultant to determine", "Yes", "x", "By Consultant" and similar notations are used in this RFP, the Consultant shall design and prepare the necessary drawings and details for that item of work. Design work may not be passed on to the construction contractor via plan note. In addition, where there are items that require the action of work (by whom it may not be clear), the Consultant is the party that shall accomplish it.
