Demolition, site work and new construction of a detention facility in Valhalla, New York. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade, 80-bed detention facility.
This opportunity seeks a responsive Statement of Qualifications from qualified Design-Build entities or teams capable of providing all work necessary for the design and construction of a new Secure/Specialized Secure Youth Detention Facility located in Westchester County. The facility will replace the current Woodfield Cottage Facility and expand capacity to securely house up to 58 youth, with future expansion possible to 80 beds. The design should encourage rehabilitation, focusing on restorative principles such as daylighting and calming acoustics, and must comply with all regulations for secure youth detention facilities and relevant building codes. The existing facility will remain operational during construction, requiring the Design Builder to maintain secure separation of construction and operational areas. Post-construction, the new building will house youth, the old building will be demolished, and outdoor recreation facilities and parking lots will be constructed. The total construction budget is not to exceed $245,000,000. Interested proposers should review qualification and certification requirements to determine eligibility. Proposals utilizing partnerships with certified MWBE/SDVOB firms are encouraged. Proposals must comply with New York State business registration and may require a Certificate of Authorization for engineering services. Proposals must be submitted in the full legal name of the proposer.
