To provide metal bars, sheets, rods, and other relevant accessories required by colleges to effectively run the machine-shop learning classes for all VCCS colleges. Contract Term: Five years with two additional one-year renewal options In compliance with this Invitation For Bids (IFB) and all conditions imposed or referenced in this IFB, the undersigned company offers and agrees to furnish all goods and services required by this IFB at the prices indicated in online , and the undersigned company hereby certifies that all information provided below and in any schedule attached hereto is true, correct, and complete. Such a request shall be in writing and explain why an exception should be made in that invitation to bid. The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish multiple contracts with qualified Contractors for the provision of various metals, including but not limited to bars, rods, sheets, steel, aluminum, and other related materials, to support the Machine Shop programs, or other programs at Virginia's Community Colleges (VCCS). These contracts will cover nine (9) designated zones across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The awarded Contractors shall be responsible for preparing the metals in accordance with the specifications provided in individual purchase orders issued by the colleges, transporting the materials to the designated college campuses, and unloading the materials into predetermined storage locations at each site. Historically, individual colleges within the VCCS have procured these materials separately, which has led to challenges including exceeding procurement thresholds and inefficiencies in the purchasing process. By establishing these contracts, VCCS aims to streamline procurement, improve compliance with applicable procurement guidelines, and create a more efficient and consistent process for sourcing metals needed for programs provided by the VCCS system statewide. The Contract Term will be for five (5) years, with the option of two (2) additional one-year renewal periods. If both renewal options are exercised, the maximum term of the contracts will be seven (7) years. Contractors that are awarded a contract are not guaranteed a minimum amount of work. There is no obligation on the part of VCCS to use these contract(s), and there is no guarantee that any awarded contractor(s) shall receive a request to provide services under any awarded contract. The Commonwealth reserves the right to inspect bidder's physical facilities prior to award to satisfy questions regarding the bidder's capabilities. The Commonwealth further reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigations of, such bidder fails to satisfy the Commonwealth that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to provide the services and/or furnish the goods contemplated therein. TESTING AND INSPECTION: The Commonwealth reserves the right to conduct any test/inspection it may deem advisable to assure goods and services conform to the specifications. The Commonwealth reserves the right to make multiple awards as a result of this solicitation. The award(s) will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) meeting the requirements of the solicitation. The Commonwealth reserves the right to conduct any tests it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations.
