Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Dexter, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.

The work consists of bridge removal (50513 & 50514), bridge construction (50604 & 50605), excavation, grading, aggregate base, full depth reclamation, bituminous surfacing, erosion control, turf establishment, and appurtenant construction. The project is located on Csah 7 (280th Street / 660th Avenue) over the North Branch Root River in Sections 2 and 35, Dexter and Sargeant Townships, Mower County, Minnesota. The project involves replacing Bridge No. 50513 and Bridge No. 50514 with new Bridge Nos. 50605 and 50604, including approach roadway reconstruction and related work, with a combined project length of approximately 0.4 miles. Major quantities include: 5,450 CY common excavation, 1,020 ton aggregate base (Class 2), 4,444 SY full depth reclamation, 1,700 CY haul full depth reclamation, 630 ton shoulder base aggregate (Class 2), 826 ton Type SP 12.5 wearing course mixture (3,c), 850 ton Type SP 12.5 nonwearing course mixture (2,b), 187 CY structural concrete (3B52), 103,660 lb reinforcement bars (epoxy coated), 920 lb reinforcement bars (stainless, 75 ksi), 6,331 SF bridge slab concrete (3Ünpcm), 2 LS remove existing bridge, 800 LF cast-in-place concrete piling (12" & 16"), 280 LF filter berm (Type 5), 1,400 LF silt fence (Type MS), 8,000 SY rolled erosion prevention (Category 25), and 3.06 AC seeding, along with associated items. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive defects therein and to award to other than the lowest bidder if it is in the best interest of the county. Minimum wage rates to be paid by contractors have been predetermined and are subject to the Work Hours Act of 1962 and implementing regulations. The 2025 Edition of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction shall govern the work under this Contract, except as modified or altered in these Special Provisions. S-1.2 This work will include but not be limited to: A The replacement of Existing Bridge No. 50513 with New Bridge No. 50605, and B The replacement of Existing Bridge No. 50514 with New Bridge No. 50604, and C The Regrading and Resurfacing of the approach roadways to both bridges. S-1.3 It is the intent of this Contract that the work on both bridges be undertaken concurrently. Both bridges will be closed to all traffic at the same time. The roadway (CSAH 7) between the bridges will also be closed to all traffic (except for local access) for the duration of the Project.
