Bids are being solicited for the Granular Activated Carbon Replacement at the Olney Water Treatment Plant. The contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rate of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract and must comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. The contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The City of Olney reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. A Substance Abuse Policy and certificate of insurance shall be submitted before a contract is signed. Bids may be held by the City of Olney for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft, negotiable U.S. Government bonds at par value, or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid.
