Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 28,800-square-foot, one-story above grade, 1,000-bed educational facility; for site work for a one-story above grade educational facility; for outdoor lighting for a educational facility; and for paving for a educational facility.

UNT expects this project to contain approximately 1,000 community-oriented beds, likely in a pod configuration or similar, including single-use community bathrooms designed efficiently and centrally located. The program should consist of an optimal mix of doubles and singles to support primarily FTIC students while creating some space for upper-division students on campus. Within the residence hall there should be an emphasis on strong community elements and shared amenities including lounges, social areas, recreation spaces, study rooms, community laundry and kitchens that encourage student engagement and promote meaningful student interactions. The project must also contain approximately 28,000 sf of ground floor space designated for the Innovation Center. This space will be focused on music, multimedia, and business industries, including collaboration areas, open incubator space, meeting rooms, coworking spaces, multipurpose rooms, and a mix of technologically driven lab spaces. As of May 6, 2026, the project remains in the evaluation phase. A finalist is expected to be identified in March or April 2026, followed by partner selection and the start of design activities in May 2026. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been released. Further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been disclosed.
