Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Key Biscayne, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor and equipment necessary to: 1. Remove and install new safety hand-railings at multiple locations as identified on the plans at the following locations: Grit Bldgs. 1 & 2, Oxygenation Trains Plants 1 & 2, Secondary Clarifiers Plant 1 & 2, and Polymer Building. 2. Remove existing corroded steel stairs and replace them with anodized aluminum stairs at Grit Building 1 (south stairs) and at Polymer Building. 3. Provide concrete restoration work along liquor troughs and in areas of work, and as noted in the plans. 4. Repair/restoration of concrete stairs at Secondary Clarifiers Plant 1 & 2. B. Fabrication of the replacement welded railings, base plates, and replacement stairs shall be done in shop and off site. Prior to installation of the replacement railings (welded and non-welded), the Contractor is required to remove existing railings, pressure wash the installation working areas, and repair any large cracks. Prior to installation of the replacement stairs, the Contractor is required to remove existing stairs that are heavily corroded, pressure wash the working areas, repair existing holes, and paint and seal the surfaces of the walls and stairs. C. Plant Operations: The work shall be executed while the wastewater plant is in operation. The CONTRACTOR's activities shall not adversely affect the operations or impact the treatment capacity of the plant. Refer to the requirements outlined in Specification 01 11 00 SPECIAL PROJECT PROCEDURES. D. Closeout: All remaining work after Substantial Completion, including performing final cleanup and addressing punch list items as identified by the ENGINEER and/or DEPARTMENT. All punch list items shall be coordinated with the DEPARTMENT and shall occur only after the platforms have been completed satisfactorily. 1.8 MINIMUM CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE OF THE CONTRACTOR A.
