The Littleton Water Department invites bids from qualified bidders for the redevelopment of LWD Wells (well 1, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, and 5), located in Littleton, MA 01460. Each well is described in the scope of work. Specifications, instructions to bidders, and related bid documents may be obtained electronically from the Littleton Electric Light and Water Department's website. Prospective bidders must register on the website to download bid documents. Questions or clarifications regarding this IFB should be submitted in writing to the designated email address. All bids are subject to the applicable provisions of the Massachusetts bidding laws. A bid deposit equal to 5% of the total amount of the bid is due with the bid, in the form of a certified check, bid bond, or cashier's check. Bids must remain valid for 30 days after the opening of bids. A payment bond equal to 50% of the total bid amount with a qualified surety company will be required for the successful bidder. Minimum wage rates apply as determined by the Department of Labor Standards. All bids must be sealed and properly marked, received by the indicated deadline, at which point they will be publicly opened and read. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The LWD reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities or minor irregularities in bids received if deemed in the best interest of the LWD. The work generally consists of: the cleaning and redevelopment of all LWD wells through mechanical surging and chemical treatments including performance testing.
