The project involves supplying remote electric switching and racking equipment to be used at six major locations: T90/91, T46, T18, T5, Fisherman’s Terminal, and Shilshole Bay Marina. The goal is to eliminate the need for workers to be in the arc flash hazard zone during racking and switching tasks, thus greatly increasing electrician safety. The required equipment package includes, but is not limited to, Remote Racking Systems, Remote Switch Operators, and Remote Switch Actuators, which will be shared across various port locations. Remote switches are needed for breakers and open-air switches at multiple sites for medium voltage fused switches.
