Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Hampton, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.

The project involves furnishing and installing playground equipment for all abilities with some ADA compliant features at Dave Daniels Park, on the 100 block of Nix Street West, in Hampton, SC. The project includes furnishing and installing an ADA-compliant play structure, merry-go-round, and swing set, along with perimeter fencing with gates, surface materials, weed control barrier, a shade structure, picnic tables, concrete pad, park benches, and trash cans. Multiple types of surface materials may be needed for specific equipment. The existing playground area is 100' long x 75' wide, and all work should be done within this footprint. All old playground equipment will be removed prior to construction. Site will be a level, grassy area. The scope includes installation and related site improvements within the existing playground area. DESCRIPTION OF BID ITEMS o Remove existing 6" plastic border and stakes. o Furnish and install: o 350 LF of 4' high chain link fence around perimeter with two (2) walk-through gates with latches. o Surface materials to cover the playground. Multiple types of surface materials may be needed for specific equipment. o Solid surface - At least 6' of solid surface materials should be under and surrounding each play structure and a 6' wide path connecting the equipment and picnic area. Solid surface (SF) should be shown as poured-in-place rubber. Indicate on the bid form the area covered by poured in place rubber. Bonded rubber can be shown as an alternate and may be chosen to replace poured in place rubber based on total cost. If all bids are overbudget, bonded rubber may be substituted in place of poured in place rubber. o Rubber mulch - Can be added for surrounding play areas. Indicate on the bid form the area (SF) covered by rubber mulch. o Weed barrier - MUST be included under any rubber mulch. Indicate on the bid form the area (SF) covered by weed barrier. o Grass removal - If grass needs to be sprayed/removed before the weed barrier is placed. Indicate on the bid form the area (SF) removed. o Grass remaining - Some grass can remain if needed due to design and cost. Indicate on the bid form the area covered by grass. Sod will not be added. o One (1) ramp to transition from grass to the chosen solid surface material. o One (1) ADA-compliant swing set for all ages. Minimum 6 swings. o One (1) ADA-compliant play structure for ages 5-12. o One (1) ADA-compliant merry-go-round for all ages. o One (1) picnic shed, 10' x 20' wood frame shed, metal roof. o One (1) concrete pad under picnic shed, 4" thick x 10' wide x 20' long. o Two (2) metal 8' picnic tables, anchored in concrete. To be placed under the shed. o Four (4) metal park benches, anchored in concrete. Near play equipment. o Two (2) metal trash cans, anchored in concrete. One near play equipment, one near picnic tables.
