Grand Rapids Public Schools is soliciting bids for Project 25-0264, which consists of Elevator Modernization at various GRPS locations. The project is anticipated to start in January 2026 and wrap up in 2028. Bidders must submit their proposals as described in the Project Manual. Bids must be received by 11:00am on December 18, 2025, in a sealed, opaque envelope identifying the bidder and the project title. Faxed, emailed, and electronic bids will not be accepted. Two signed originals of the bid must be included. Bids lacking completed forms as outlined in the project manual may be deemed non-responsive. Bid security, in the amount of 5% of the base bid, is required with all submissions. It may be provided as a certified or cashier's check payable to "Grand Rapids Public Schools," or as an executed Bid Bond on specified forms, with a surety authorized to do business in Michigan. Bid security will be returned after award of contracts, but will be forfeited if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and provide required payment and performance bonds and insurance within 30 days after the Notice of Award. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is mandatory for firms wishing to be considered for contract award. Pre-bid inquiries must be sent via email to Pete Long, VDA Elevator Consulting. No bidder contact with the Owner or Architect is permitted during the bid period. Bids shall remain valid for 60 days after the bid date. The Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education will authorize the contract award and reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and award a contract to other than the low bidder, at its sole and absolute discretion.
