The City of Wichita is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide phased architectural services for the design and construction administration for the renovation of the Central Library, 233 S. Main Street, with planned use as an event center. The selected Design Team will provide detailed design materials and a defined work scope for the project, which focuses primarily on the first floor of the approximately 25,000 SF facility, with necessary improvements on other floors to enable use as a public gathering venue. Deliverables include conceptual, design development, and construction document phases; periodic construction monitoring; shop drawing review; and project close-out and post-occupancy review. Proposals must outline experience and understanding of project objectives, describe the timeline for each phase, confirm critical facility needs and costs, detail site and utility improvements, provide construction cost estimates, and assist with bidding and administration phases. Subcontracting portions of the contract to emerging and disadvantaged businesses is encouraged, and all proposals must be submitted via the City's Procurement Portal.
