Renovation of a water / sewer project in Durham, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Through this Request for Qualifications (RFQ), the City of Durham (City), Department of Water Management (DWM) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from interested and qualified progressive design-build (DB) teams for the City's PFAS Treatment and Electrical Upgrades Project at Brown Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Williams WTP. Scope of the project will include, but will not necessarily be limited to: o PFAS Treatment at Brown WTP - The PFAS treatment scope upgrades include design and construction of a new Powdered Activated Carbon treatment system at the Brown WTP. Electrical Upgrades - The upgrades scope for this project will also include various electrical panels, lighting panels, transformers, MCC's, switchboards, VFD additions, a pump starter, and motorized actuators at both Brown WTP and Williams WTP. The list of items to be included for replacement is further detailed in the reference documents. Liquid Ammonia Storage upgrades - The scope will also include Liquid Ammonia Storage (LAS) tank improvements at Brown and Williams WTPs, including adding a second 8,000-gallon LAS tank at Brown WTP and replacing the existing 8,000-gallon LAS tank at Williams WTP. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals in the best interest of the City. Scope of the project will include, but will not necessarily be limited to: PFAS Treatment at Brown WTP - The PFAS treatment scope upgrades include design and construction of a new Powdered Activated Carbon treatment system at the Brown WTP. The Department is responsible for infrastructure operation, maintenance, evaluation, rehabilitation, and improvement of the drinking water system throughout the City. The selected progressive design-build team will assist the Department by providing services to design and construct the project, utilizing design-build delivery per North Carolina General Statute (G.S.) 143-128.1A. The scope for these projects will also include various electrical upgrades at both Brown WTP and Williams WTP. The list of items to be included for replacement is shown below and is further detailed in the reference documents. The Professional Services goals for this project are 0% M/UBE and 0% W/UBE. The Construction Phase goals for this project are 11% M/UBE and 7% W/UBE.
