The work of this contract is comprised of removal, supplying, and installing filter media at Brazosport Authority Water Treatment Plant located at 1251 FM 2004, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566. In general, this work consists of the scope of work as follows. (6) Leopold Clay tile filters and (2) filters that are the AWI stainless steel type. The Leopold underdrain system has the Roberts Aires air scour system which will be removed and replaced by plant personnel. The AWI stainless steel underdrain system has an internal air scouring system. In general, this work consists of the scope of work that follows: SCOPE: Removal 1. Remove existing media and supporting material from (6) filters that measure approximately 15.6' X 23' for a total filtering surface area of 2852ft2. 2. All remove material shall be disposed of at a location designated by the owner. 3. Removal shall be done in a manner so as not to damage the Leopold clay tile under-drain. Any damage caused by the contractor shall be repaired or replaced at the expense of the contractor. 4. Contractor shall power-wash filter cell walls, upper under-drain system, troughs and associated hardware with a minimum of 3,700 psi The work will be performed in accordance with plans and specifications and any addenda thereto which may be issued prior to the opening of the bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of total base bid. If certified or cashiers check is used as bid security, check must be drawn on a responsible bank located in the State of Texas and made payable to Brazosport Water Authority only. The Brazosport Water Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any or all irregularities. In case of the lack of clarity or ambiguity in prices, the Brazosport Water Authority reserves the right to accept the most advantageous or reject the bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance bond and payment bond in the full amount of the contract to be delivered to Brazosport Water Authority at contract signing. No bid may be withdrawn until expiration of sixty (60) days from the date bids are opened.
