Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Santa Clara, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The Work and Bid Packages. The Project is generally described as new construction of single-story preschool/TK classroom buildings, parking lot and play area. The District intends to construct the Project by awarding prime contracts to prime contractors who are in direct privity of contract with the District for a specific scope of Work. Bid Proposals are requested for the following Bid Packages (Contractors License requirement in parentheses): 06.02 - Architectural Casework (C6) 09.04 - Ceramic Tile (C54) 09.05 - Acoustical Ceilings (C2) 09.06 - Flooring (C15) 09.07 - Sound Absorbing Wall and Ceiling Units (C2 or C9 or C33) 09.08 - Painting (C33) 10.01 - Miscellaneous Specialties (B or C61 or D34) 12.01 - Window Shades (D52) 21.01 - Fire Suppression (C16) 27.01 - Low Voltage Cabling (C7 or C10) 28.01 - Fire Alarm System and Integrated Public Address and Clock Systems (C7 or C10) 32.04 - Site Improvements (A or C12 or C21) 32.05 - Irrigation and Landscaping (C27) Bid Security. Bid Security must accompany each Bid Proposal in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of the proposed price for any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. Bid Security must be submitted in one of the alternative means of Bid Security submittal (including electronic submittal) described in the Instructions to Bidders. Payment Bond, Performance Bond. Prior to commencement of the Work, the Bidder awarded a Bid Package Contract must deliver to the District a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond issued by a California Admitted Surety in the form and content included in the Contract Documents in a penal sum equal to 100% of the Contract Price. Bid Proposals must include the premium cost of Payment and Performance Bonds. Contact the District's Construction Manager with questions at jpatchade@scmdinc.com Award of Contract. A Contract, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal for a Bid Package. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
