Project Description: The scope of work includes: a. Work for this project will occur during summer break. b. Roof Area 01.01: Remove existing roof assembly down to the concrete deck. Install a new lightweight insulating concrete system and a fully adhered fleeceback PVC membrane. c. Roof Area 01.02: Remove existing roof assembly down to the concrete deck. Install a new lightweight insulating concrete system and a fully adhered fleeceback PVC membrane. d. Screen Wall: Remove and dispose of existing screen wall panels. Clean, wire brush and paint existing steel screen wall structure. Install new hat channel and metal flush panel system on existing screen wall frame The Kennedy Hall Roof Replacement Project will be completed in an occupied building. Project to start May 12, 2026, and be completed by August 1, 2026. The minimum goals for participation by minority firms as subcontractors on this project have been set at 10% Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
