FCI Construction, as Construction Manager as Constructor for Whitley County Consolidated School District in Columbia City, Indiana, will receive sealed bids for the Whitley County Consolidated Schools CTE Building. Each bid must include all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the prepared drawings and specifications. Trade contractor bids will be opened and read aloud immediately after submission. Plans, specifications, and related documents will be sent digitally to approved bidders. Any bid package estimated to exceed $50,000 must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to operate in Indiana, made payable to Whitley County Consolidated School District in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. In the event a bidder withdraws or fails to execute a satisfactory contract within 10 days after the award, the certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond may be forfeited as liquidated damages. Successful bidders will subcontract with FCI Construction and may be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, which will remain in effect for one year from substantial completion. The ability to provide bonds is a condition precedent to bidding, and bids without an alternate cost for a bond will be rejected. Bids are firm for 30 days post-receipt. WCCS reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive informalities or irregularities. Wage rates must meet or exceed prevailing wage rates as determined by the Wage Rate Decision of the Secretary of US Department of Labor. Bidders must supply all information required by the bid or proposal form.
