Contract with an Iowa Department of Natural Resources authorized and experienced environmental service company to conduct required soil sampling, testing, reporting and documentation of any soil contamination as stipulated by any agencies regulating the removal of underground fuel tanks including but not limited to, the State of Iowa DNR, City of Denison, EPA, etc. Properly notify Iowa DNR and other appropriate regulatory agencies of the UST removal and file all required UST removal forms. Empty and properly dispose of existing remaining fuel from one 10,000-gallon tank and one 12,000-gallon tank. Remove concrete over tanks, where required. Excavate and remove one 10,000-gallon steel tank, one 12,000-gallon steel tank, piping, pumps, dispensers, etc. and dispose of properly according to current Iowa Department of Natural Resources rules and regulations and provide documentation of proper disposal. Only upon completion of acceptable soil condition testing, and following Iowa DNR approval, replace and compact excavated area so no settling occurs and have enough topsoil to allow grass seed to grow. Conduct final grading and seeding. Replace concrete, as necessary to restore taxiway and apron. Clean the work site and remove all debris, equipment, excess materials and supplies upon completion. Project start date and completion date will be consideration for contractor selection. Site access and location is on an active airport. A plan and coordination for how to access and conduct site activity will be required by the Airport Management to assure safe and reasonable limited effect on aircraft operations. The City of Denison reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals, extend the proposal due deadline if necessary, and negotiate final terms with any selected vendor.
